Combine in mixing bowl:
1 cup sugar
¼ cup shortening
Cream well and add 1 egg
Combine:
1 cup flour
½ tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp allspice
½ tsp ginger
Add to the sugar mixture alternately with 1 cup milk and mix until moistened.
Add while stirring:
1 large banana, sliced
1 cup grated apples, peeled
½ cup seedless raisins
½ cup shredded coconut
½ cup chopped walnuts
Heat oven to 350°. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13” pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Serve warm or cold with a favorite sauce, whipped cream, ice cream, or a powdered sugar icing.
